About the Event: The course is a scenic run in the heart of Washington DC’s beautiful Rock Creek Park. Beginning at Carter Barron, runners will run parallel to the creek while taking in the striking sights of nature. The trail offers one watering station located at the half way point. There, runners will find water and assorted electrolyte replacement drinks. The course is closed to traffic. (No bikes, scooters or headphones, please.)

About the Event: The 4th annual Bullis Gives Back 5K/2.5K Walk and 400 M fun run is open to the general community. The race benefits local charitable organizations and this year all proceeds benefit Stepping Stones Shelter in Rockville, Habitat for Humanity in the DC Metro area and S.A.F.E., a fund set up to cover student activity fees and text books for students in need. This family fun event includes music, food, games and a raffle with an iPad3 as the grand raffle prize.

About the Event: On the morning of Sunday, September 30th, 2012, the Friends of the Light House Shelter will be hosting the second running of the Annapolis Run for Shelter which is a Half Marathon and the 5th Annual Jogging Joe Shafran Memorial Run which is a 4.2 mile Fun Race. The run will be along the scenic trails of Quiet Waters Park and through the beautiful Chesapeake Bay front neighborhood of Hillsmere Shores. This race is unlike any other in the greater Annapolis area in that all proceeds from the Annapolis Run for Shelter will benefit the Light House Shelter in Annapolis.

About the Event: The 3.1 mile scenic course winds through neighborhood
streets surrounding Civista Medical Center and downtown La Plata. Runners are $30.00 until April 13, $35.00 as of April 14. Walkers are $25.00 until April 13 and $30.00 as of April 14. Children 10 and under are free. All participants pre-registered by April 13, 2012 receive a t-shirt. All participants enjoy the HUGE post race brunch.
